The law office of Chehardy Sherman Williams is proud to welcome both Jane
C. Scheuermann and Barry W. Sartin as the firm’s newest attorneys.
Jane C. Scheuermann earned the degree of Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College
of Law in 1981. She began her legal career as a legislative assistant
at the Louisiana Legislature, then as a staff attorney with the Office
of General Counsel of the Louisiana Department of Health and Human Resources.
In 1986, Ms. Scheuermann began her career in the private practice of law.
She is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the Louisiana
Board of Legal Specialization, and a member of the Louisiana State Bar
Association. Before joining Chehardy Sherman Williams as a partner in
April, Ms. Scheuermann handled family law matters (i.e., divorce, custody,
support, marriage contracts, etc.), interdictions, judicial commitments,
mental health law and advocacy, fiduciary duties and obligations, chairing
medical review panels, ethics and professionalism, wills, powers of attorney,
estate planning, successions and contested estates. At Chehardy Sherman
Williams, Ms. Scheuermann will be focusing primarily on matters pertaining
to family law, mental health law and advocacy and estate planning.
Barry W. Sartin Jr., earned his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 2007 and a Certificate
in Paralegal Studies from Louisiana State University Continuing Education,
where he received the Honor Student Award, before earning his Juris Doctorate
from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law in 2011. Before joining
Chehardy Sherman Williams in April, Mr. Sartin worked as an associate
with plaintiff personal injury firm Lewis & Caplan. At Chehardy Sherman
Williams, Mr. Sartin will handle Plaintiff Personal Injury & Insurance Claims.
