Born in Dallas, Texas on June 23, 1951. She came to New Orleans in
1969, when she began her undergraduate studies at H. Sophie Newcomb
College of Tulane University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree
in Spanish Literature and has maintained her fluency in the Spanish
language. Continuing her studies at Tulane University of Law, she received
her law degree in 1975 and was admitted to the Bar of the State of
Louisiana that same year.
Since her admission to practice in 1975, Ms. Perrone, an experienced
trial attorney, has represented individual and corporate clients in
state and federal court. She has handled a wide variety of civil matters
during her career, including business dissolution, contract and employment
practices disputes, U.C.C. issues, consumer class action litigation
and non-profit organization representation.
In the field of matrimonial law, Ms. Perrone has handled over a thousand
divorce cases, including complex community property partitions involving
closely-held business and professional practice valuations. She has
also litigated the question of dischargeability of community property
partitions in bankruptcy court, interstate custody disputes and other
novel questions in this area of expertise.
Ms. Perrone has represented a health care industry company since 1989,
and has devoted a significant portion of her practice to all aspects
of company representation, including management of its litigation issues,
drafting of contracts and development of management manuals.
She has
maintained her ties to Tulane University School of Law by volunteering
her time as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy since
1993. She also has served as a judge for the National Moot Court Competition.
